Question: Saltwater fishing gear?

I was hoping to do some saltwater fishing in Jamestown, RI and I was wondering what should I use at the end of my line? What lure would be good. I am not a very experienced fisherman, so I don't have that much gear, but I do have some spoons and fly's. I am hoping to fish without bait.

If you are fishing from a boat i would be using big fly patterns that mimic bunker. if you are shore fishing i would use pencil poppers and danny's

I think it would be better if you go to your local bait/tackle shop and ask for advice and what they recommend... or if you want to catch a specific kind of fish you can research around on what kind of artificial lure that they are most likely to bite
